Fully Managed Service (FMS)
An FMS from Digital-Word gives you the power and flexibility of your own server without large capital expenditure as you are renting the hardware and software from us. Additionally the server is managed for you, so the day to day administration tasks of security, log rotation and hardware support are handed to us.

Fully Managed Service


We offer a range of solutions ranging from single processor machines to server clusters. Most custom requirements can be met.

"Managed" means that the server processes and hardware are monitored, data is backed up and any problems covered by our support policy are resolved by us. We manage the hardware and software for you, leaving you to concentrate on your application.

Our dedicated servers are sourced from a top supplier and can be tailored to suit your application.

Hardware Maintenance
If a component fails we will repair or replace it immediately free of charge within four hours.

Backup
All FMS servers are backed-up on a daily basis. All tape archiving and swapping is taken care of for you. Tapes are stored in a fire proof safe.

This service comprises the following:
  • Backups are incremental on a daily basis with a full backup once a week
  • One restore in any given week is free of charge

Operating System
Patches: Periodically, operating system patches become available. On request Digital-Word will apply these for you at no charge. Please contact your account manager to request a patch.

Troubleshooting FMS Problems
Please contact your account manager if you experience FMS problems. Any such problems will be resolved at no cost.
